Apparently going to the NBA finals in your first season and being first in the Eastern Conference in your second season does little in the way of job security. Ask David Blatt who, amongst his many coaching achievements ,can now add former head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Blatt was shown the door today despite the success, amid reports of growing unrest in the Cavaliers’ locker room ( I wonder who could be the source of that?).
Speaking through his agency, Priority Sports”, Blatt had this to say:
“I’d like to thank Dan Gilbert and David Griffin for giving me this opportunity and am honored to have worked with an amazing group of players from LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love through our entire roster.”
Adrian Wojnarowski of yahoo sports has reported that Cavs assistant Tyronn Lue has signed a 3 year deal to be Cleveland’s head man.
